See if you can spot the water heater, concrete pipe, Bird’s Crack etc. If you pause at 12:20 you might get somewhat of a feel of about a 30ft drop straight down into the river. Note the “Hand off the handlebar and grab the Tree” technique. Can’t blame him though, if you fall right, it will take scuba gear to find your scooter. Hope you Enjoy !

Stopmotion video of the construction of Plaza Pozuelos in Guanajuato in 2005. The construction site is located in a ravine in the city of Guanajuato, capital of the State with the same name in Mexico. The ravine used to be filled with trash and rubble; UBSA leveled the rest using “tepetate” or dirt. Precast concrete blocks were used to build 40 feet tall retention walls. Foundations were made using piles of up to 90 feet deep in the filled areas and spread footings at the hill side. Precast concrete structure was used for the two main buildings (two levels) and the underground parking lot underneath building three. A hybrid structure of steel and precast concrete was used at the cinemas. Block walls were built in the main buildings and concrete was uesd for sumps and the underground parking. Commercial-grade finishes and lighting was used. this dry laid stone sculpture was made by nathan peterson as part of his final thesis in sculpture at umass. it’s next to the durfee conservatory, a later edition of the original greenhouse from the mass. ag. college. it is about 6 feet tall…he also designed the stone apron surrounding it. the bluestone came from the umass stone “boneyard”, where it was stashed back in the 70’s, only a few weeks after the campus center building was opened. designed by the famous architect MARCEL BREUER, he used the bluestone as the rooftop plaza surface. the stone could not withstand the weight of vehicles, so it had to be replaced by precast concrete tiles.

That’s the hope of a team of Rutgers and NJIT students that is taking its vision to Washington this fall for an international competition. Visitors to Rutgers Day will have an opportunity to explore a virtual prototype of the innovative solar-powered structure. They also can see presentations about other Rutgers solar initiatives that are significantly reducing the university’s dependence on fossil fuels. “We are enormously proud that Rutgers University is at the forefront of developing renewable energy sources,” said Rutgers President Richard L. When Brisbane based prestressed precast concrete company Con-Tec secured the contract to supply reinforced concrete girders for the new Houghton Highway Bridge, OneSteel Reinforcing provided solutions to help reduce labour and meet project demands. Funded by the Queensland Government, the 2.7 kilometre, $315 million bridge duplication is located 35 metres east of the existing Houghton Highway Bridge, features three traffic lanes, a shared pedestrian/cycle path and a dedicated fishing platform. Connecting Brisbane to the Redcliffe Peninsula across Bramble Bay, construction commenced in February 2008 and is scheduled for completion mid 2011.

A dry cast production process for the manufacture of Manhole Cover Slabs. The fill system is manually operated to allow for flexibility and is complimented by one of the most powerful vibrating tables on the market. The demoulding of the mould and stacking of the pallet with the fresh product is completely Automatic but my be manually done if neccesary. The cured product is lifted and stacked at the rear of the system to allow the operators to do any extra operations and then stack them. Will suit many different dry cast products including Cattle Slats, Hog/Pig Slats, Fencing Products, Railway Channels, Kerbs, etc……
