UNF Green Build Sustainable Building Design

UNF Green Build Sustainable Building Design

The first LEED certified project in Jacksonville, Florida is at the University of North Florida. The University of North Florida used a thin-brick precast sandwich wall panel in their Social Sciences Building, with 2 inches of insulation in the middle of the wall cavity, to reduce the likelihood of mold, mildew, and moisture migration within the wall. The precast concrete in the Jacksonville, FL, facility was also used for an innovation in design credit as part of the LEED rating system because of the use of thin brick, which used less energy to produce, and less energy to transport for the building system. For More Information Contact: FPCAWEB.ORG
