Iowa Concrete Products Company A part of Maquoketa since 1926. Frank Regner started constructing concrete burial vaults in Monmouth, Iowa in 1919. The manufacturing plant was located on the same street as Regner’s home. Frank’s son, Franklin later joined the Regner business and helped to carry it on. In 1952 the Regner and Son business was sold to two brothers, John and Donald Hoffman. At that time, the present business name, Iowa Concrete Products, was adopted. Soon after assuming ownership, the brothers moved to the present location of the business on highway 64 West and constructed the original building. Don left the partnership and John became the sole owner until the business was sold to Betty Franklin in 1962. While the Hoffman’s owned the business, they expanded the operation by manufacturing various sizes of septic tanks. It was during the ownership of the Franklins that the firm again expanded its product line by manufacturing agricultural products, such as various sizes of feed bunkers. In 1984 Olin Quissell and Barry Francois formed a partnership and decided to purchase the company. Various liners are now offered for the concrete burial vaults, including liners made of copper, fiberglass, stainless steel, and polished styrene. Now the firm is a distributor and sales-agency for the monument line of the JP Vincent & Son Company of Galena, Illinois.
