Pozuelos in 2 minutes

Stopmotion video of the construction of Plaza Pozuelos in Guanajuato in 2005. The construction site is located in a ravine in the city of Guanajuato, capital of the State with the same name in Mexico. The ravine used to be filled with trash and rubble; UBSA leveled the rest using “tepetate” or dirt. Precast concrete blocks were used to build 40 feet tall retention walls. Foundations were made using piles of up to 90 feet deep in the filled areas and spread footings at the hill side. Precast concrete structure was used for the two main buildings (two levels) and the underground parking lot underneath building three. A hybrid structure of steel and precast concrete was used at the cinemas. Block walls were built in the main buildings and concrete was uesd for sumps and the underground parking. Commercial-grade finishes and lighting was used.
