- This home movie starts with a great fashion footage. The woman in the movie is wearing a pink and white 1950’s style dress with a full skirt and wrap. The couple gets into a classic car and drives off into the sunset. The movie then switches to see a baby taking his fist steps and then a nice family picture of all the kids. Next, we see great footage of that great summer activity of kinds running through sprinklers. We see footage of the beach. Check out those classic swimsuits! I am not sure what kind of farm equipment in depicted in the next scene, but the landscape us beautiful. It looks like a mountain terrain, similar to that of the grand canyon. Finally, it looks like we’re headed to Las Vegas. The wonderful old road side attractions used to be a staple in family road trips. This footage looks like it shows Dunes Auto with a statue in front of the sign, as well as several other road side stops. There is some very interesting footage at the end of this movie and I am not sure what industrial process this depicts. This movie was taken around 1957 or 58. I am the baby in this and am now 49. The lanscape scenes are canyons in the mojave desert. The equipment is concrete irrigation pipe machines. My Grandfather used to own Coopers Concrete Pipe Company between Bakersfield and Arvin CA
